Tonight while I was blog stalking...
Dallin sat right next to me.
Scooted his chair as close as he could get it.
Wrapped his arms around me,
and periodically kissed my cheek.

When I asked him what he was doing,
he answered me,
"I just want to hold you."

Yes, I know I'm lucky to be dating such a cute boy.

chopped

A few weeks back, I woke up-
looked in the mirror,
and concluded my hair needed a cut.
4-5 inches later........

and I'm now a short haired blonde girl.
It's so short,
and I still get too much shampoo every time I wash it,
but I love it!

v-day followup

Even though these pictures are the night before Valentine's Day, I just wanted to state that Dallin did a very nice job of creating a nice Valentine's Day this year. Starting with the night before, Dallin showed up at my door with a bundle of beautiful flowers. He told me he brought them that night because he knew I wouldn't be expected them and he knows I love surprises. Right he was. I made dinner that night and we watched Hope Floats. I've seen the movie many a time, but this time it became a tear jerker and I cried like a baby!

The beautiful arrangement of flowers Dallin picked out for me. He got exactly what I wanted, and I loved it even more because I didn't even tell him.

Here's Dallin enjoying his dinner.
He looks really happy because I'm a gourmet chef. (joke)

Ready to watch chick flick #328

On Valentine's Day, I woke up to a phone call from Dallin who informed me that breakfast was ready for me and was waiting for me whenever I wanted to walk across the street. After breakfast we went to Dallin's soccer game where the game was forfeited in effect to the lack of players. There were enough players around to play a game for fun though, so while Dallin played I worked on my V-day gift for him. As we left the game we heard a pop from the back of the car, and although we ignored it at the time, it wasn't long until we saw my right back tire was completely air-less. Flatter than the pancakes I ate for breakfast. Luckily Dallin is full of all types of talents and had the spare on in no time. We made our way to Salt Lake and enjoyed a Chinese dinner at Sampan. After dinner we met up with Christian and Rickie, and Karl and Kalli and saw Twilight. It was a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Dallin making breakfast.
He's the real gourmet chef.
It was delicious, and very thoughtful and sweet.

The table with a center piece and all! (joke, again.)

Thanks Dall, love you.

My take on Love Month

Ok, I give. Here's my "love month" post. I have been reading so many blog posts on love month. I'm starting to wonder if I'm a normal girl? I don't get excited about love month, and I don't like Valentines Day. I try not to talk about it because I don't want to sound like a bah-humbug, but I think I really just don't like it. I'm going to try my hardest not to let this be a downer blog, but I have decided I need to get my
thoughts on Valentines Day out.
On the radio yesterday, they said more breakup's happen around Valentine's Day than any other time of year. I have to agree to this as my former highschool flings and "relationships" have come to a close on or near Valentine's day multiple times. I'm going to go ahead and guess that is a reason why V-day may not be my favorite day. Now that I'm actually dating someone I've wondered what this Valentine's Day will even entail. Does it need to be a special day, or is it okay if we just use it as a regular day? I'm not exactly sure I feel like making it a day that's different than the rest, but I know myself well enough that I'll probably be disappointed if it's not acknowledged. I'm sorry for Dallin, because I confuse myself on the matter.
As I've read other blogs and have seen cute little wife's put love notes in their husbands lunches, and leave love notes in other various places, I've thought to myself, "why don't I come up with ideas like that?" but even more so, why don't I DO that kind of stuff after stealing the idea from someone else? And although I've seen plenty of cute ideas and told myself to find time to do something similar, I continue to let the days pass and nothing has come. Reflecting back on previous Valentine's Day's I realize I have no reason to dislike the holiday. Although it may have felt my 17 year old life was coming to a close when Valentine's Day with a fellow 17 year old boyfriend wasn't fireworks and bliss, I can't complain. How can one even form feelings from a silly highschool relationship v-day?
I have decided, you can't.
I spent last years Valentine's Day with Gamma. We decorated sugar cookies, I wore a red-stripped shirt, and we ate a late dinner at Chili's. I remember being slightly disappointed when a undeveloped crush didn't call to wish me a Happy Valentines Day. I knew I'd dropped a couple slight hints, but I have now learned hints to not work well with men. Valentines Day last year was fine. NO men-no pressure. The year before I went out with a great friend, Samuel Duke. We weren't dating by any means, and I think it made the date that much better. We saw Music and Lyrics and then Sam played some music for me on his guitar. There was no pressure in the date, and therefore it was very enjoyable.
I realize this blog is sounding like a complaint and I'm confused at myself as to why I'm making it sound like pressure equals no fun. All in all, I have come to the conclusion that Valentine's Day IS just like any other day, except there's a lot of red and pink around, flowers are priced significantly higher than normal, and the person you love should be reminded that you love them. Simple. I have finally figured out what I'm going to give my love this Valentine's Day. So here's my conclusion: Valentine's Day is just a holiday, no need for bitterness if there's no special someone, and there's no reason to spend large amounts of money. Just find that simple way to show your love you love them. I don't care what this Valentine's Day brings, all I care about it spending a special night with Dallin. Amen! :)

Mister Mom

Pictured above is the person who's been taking care of me for the last, who knows how long, but noticeably the last couple of weeks. Life here in Provo would be extremely more difficult AND boring without him. I think everyone should try to find one of these. They are indispensable. Some of the things I appreciate about the last couple weeks that he has done for me include:

1. Making me breakfast, lunch, dinner. Not usually all 3 meals in one day, but it may have happened. Phone calls and sweet text messages like this are not very rare, "You can come over now so I can make you lunch while you take your test." "Ok. Love you. You can come over after class and I'll make you lunch if you want."

2. Running to the grocery store at 11:30pm to get items for me, just to make me feel better when I am sick. Not only was it raining, but it was late, and he didn't care.

3. Bringing me shampoo to wash my hair when I don't have any.

4. Looking up the redbox number while on campus in between classes and an appointment, just to ensure I won't be charged an extra $1.70.

5. Letting me use his computer to do my assignments.

6. Helping me with math homework and offering to go over mistakes made on tests so I can know how to fix it.

7. Driving around Provo on the scooter to 3 different ice-cream shops looking for an exact type of smoothie.

8. Finding an article for my nursing class for me to post as group discussion leader. The article was so enjoyed by my professor a class discussion was had the following class period.

9. Not just reading scriptures with me, but explaining and asking questions to make sure I'm learning what I want to.

10. Driving the scooter to the grocery store after taking a test on a Saturday afternoon to buy 7-UP for an upset stomach.

I could continue, but I'm starting to feel like I don't do much. :) I am so grateful for such a good friend that takes such good care of me. I don't think anyone has ever done as much as he does for me, in my life. The best part about all of these things is that he just does them without me even asking. He does it because he wants to. I am very lucky to be friends with this man, and so lucky that he cares about me. I hope I make him just as happy as he makes me.
