YAY!! Gamma is up and running once again! Yesterday was RUSH for Fall of 2008! It was a lot of fun being with each other again! Thanks to Kelly we had beautiful tables, a really cute back drop, and AWESOME t-shirts!! I'm really excited for Gamma! Here are some cute pictures from RUSH last night.

I was going through my pictures today and found a bunch of random sunset pictures. I love sunsets, but I didn't realize how many pictures I take of them. Here are some good ones..

LEFT TO TELL

I just finished a few more books in these last few weeks for my summer reading. Sarah inspired me at the beginning of the summer when she posted her summer reading post about Left to Tell. The book truly is fantastic. It was hard to read for me, because it made me sick reading her descriptions of the genocide in Rwanda. Immaculee Ilibagiza tells how she discovered God during the Rwandan Holocaust, because God was the only one she could reach out to during that time. There were a few parts in the book that I marked so I could write them down later, I want put them here also..
This first portion is from when Immaculee was hiding in the bathroom while the killers searched the city for any trace of surviving Tutsis. Immaculee is telling how God helped her through everything while she hid in the bathroom, she talks of having illness that were healed almost instantly as she prayed and asked God to heal her. This is the part that stuck out to me,

"No, illness wasn't going to take me. I was certain that God had a greater purpose for me, and I prayed every day for Him to reveal it to me. At first I was expecting Him to show me my entire future all at once- maybe with a flash of lightening and a clap of thunder thrown in for good measure. But I came to learn that God never shows us something we aren't ready to understand. Instead, He lets us see what we need to see, when we need to see it. He'll wait until our eyes and hearts are open to Him, and then when we're ready, He will plant our feet on the path that's best for us... but it's up to us to do the walking."
Even just typing this out again gives me chills! I can't believe how Immaculee discovered these things when she could have lost her life at anytime. The amount of strength and faith that she has is incredible to me.
This other portion that stuck out to me was after the genocide was over and Immaculee had miraculously found a job when almost the whole country was unemployed..

"I was living proof of the power of prayer and positive thinking, which really are almost the same thing. God is the source of all positive energy, and prayer is the best way to tap in to His power."

Immaculee is right, prayer and positive thinking are the two things that help make this life enjoyable and worth it. Reading this book was very worth it, I suggest it to anyone who likes to read!

the Absolute truth

I think this is a great thing to remember during all those, "pull your hair out" moments.

So, in saying that, my new motto is this,
